Pairing Galaxy Gear with a Galaxy Smartphone

Galaxy Gear™ pairs with your Galaxy® phone so you can keep up with the world around you—because your notifications will always be on-hand, even when your phone is out of sight. Check out the tips below to learn how to set up and pair your Galaxy Gear™.

1. What's in the Box?

When you unpack your new Gear, you’ll see it comes with two extra parts. The first is the USB cable to charge Gear, and the second is the charging cradle.

2. Charging Your Gear

To charge Gear, simply place Gear into the charging cradle, then connect the USB cable to the bottom of the cradle.

3. Start with the Phone

Check your phone to make sure NFC and Bluetooth® are turned ON.

4. Tap to Download

Tap the back of your Galaxy phone to the bottom of the Gear charging cradle. This will launch Samsung Apps on your phone, and you will be prompted to install the Gear Manager app.

5. Turn On Gear

While the app is downloading, turn on your Gear by pressing the power button on the top right of the face.

6. Tap to Pair

Once the app is installed, launch it. Follow the Gear Manager instructions and tap the back of your Galaxy phone to the back of the Gear charging cradle again to pair the two together.
