Everyone can use a little help now and then. From shopping lists and doing the laundry to making time for your workout and planning a company picnic, there is a personal assistant inside each smartphone, computer and tablet just waiting to be at your service. All you need to do is find the one that suits your needs, load it up and set it to work.
Franklin Planner Activity
Tasks, to-do lists and other daily items often come to mind when someone asks about a daily routine. The Franklin Planner Activity app does all of these and does it well. This app uses a system of tasks and master tasks that you can prioritize according to your personal mission statement, as well as incorporate into your daily calendar. The app can also be used for note taking and reviewing your own personal mission statement.
Another popular app for keeping track of daily tasks is Evernote. Available on most platforms, Evernote gives you the ability to sync notes, tasks and reminders between your smartphone, tablet and your computers at home and at work. Evernote includes other features like audio notes, the ability to hand write notes on a touchscreen device, and using your device's camera for document scanning. For example, if you remember an item you need to pick up at the store, you can simply speak into your smartphone, and it will be on your computer by the time you get to work. With a paid subscription, you can share your notes with others for collaboration and access your notes offline when needed.
Shopping lists and work schedules are not the only important parts of a daily routine. There are a large number of great apps for helping you with your daily workout routine, with more coming out every month. Apps like 100 Pushups and 200 Situps are designed to help you reach your fitness goals while tracking your daily achievements. Apps like Active Yoga Lite loaded onto your smartphone or tablet enable you to bring your own personal yoga studio with you wherever you go. If walking or hiking is more your style, you may want to consider GPSWalk, which helps you chart your course and measure your progress, while updating you on the day's weather forecast for the best times to head outside.
Apps for Household Chores
Many banks and credit card companies now have their own apps for helping track your finances and pay your bills. If your bank hasn't joined the app revolution yet, there are third-party apps like Bills Calculator and Debt Free to help out. If you have a smart appliance, chances are there is an app that can be used with it as well. You can program and start your laundry, and the app will tell you exactly when it’s done. Of course when it's time to think about dinner, there are hundreds of great mobile apps that can show you recipes from around the world and will tell you which ingredients you need while you're at the grocery store.
